The 5 Food Trends of 2018 in Italy and Why They'll Work (or Not)

4. Made in Italy abroad

For Italy, 2017 was a record year for agri-food exports and everything suggests that 2018 will be the same. Driving the market are the USA (+9.5%), Germany (+4.4%), UK (+9.4%), Spain (+12.7%) and Switzerland (+9.5%).

It will work because : Italian products are the best in the world.

It won't work because : humanity becomes extinct (in all other cases it will work).

5. Relaxing labels

According to the Mintel report, food product labels will become increasingly essential in 2018. After many years of companies trying to inform consumers as much as possible about product characteristics, today the risk is alienating them with information overload. New generations of packaging will seek to offer a moment of calm and clarity.

It will work because : It was Apple's good fortune.

It won't work because : you don't want to put a stamp that says "palm oil free"? And a red text to say "no added sugar"? And also write that it's non-GMO! And that it's free of glyphosate, mycotoxins, parabens, insects, nanotechnology... And zoom in on that image a little so we can see the product clearly!
